30 Mar 1 day before expedition
Last day of preparations! And what a day…
We started off with decent 7 hours of sleep. After a good breakfast, we headed downtown Longyearbyen and started with the Governor of Svalbard’s office. Next up to get the trip wires, another rifle, emergency flare, fuel/gas, more packing bags, GPS maps, hand maps, and more… The weather is a bit rough so we did a combination of taxi and walking around. We spent about 10 hours running around, then off to the final stages of preparation.
The snow sleds are almost ready, and we are both scared and ready for an adventure. Being a bit scared just make you work harder on the preparations, so thats good.
Now we have to run down to our room check out the last to-do things before we head out in the morning.
Joackim is taking over the blog will post updates every day! We will contact him by satellite and give him our latest news from the snow paradise Svalbard.
Cross your fingers and your toes, and thanks for following our Svalbard trip!
Best regards
