GREENLAND EXPEDITION – DAY 3 (14 APR)

15 Apr GREENLAND EXPEDITION – DAY 3 (14 APR)

So, we made a tough decision today… After consulting with some experienced guys (Børge Ausland and Lars Ebbesen) we decided to return to square one to unload some equipment from the pulks. (Sometimes you have to take one step back, before you can take two steps forward.. we have all heard that saying).

The terrain is extremely challenging with a lot of hidden crevasses, we are still in April. The pulks were simply too heavy in this situation. We arranged so that someone picked up our stuff at the drop-off point where we started 3 days ago. It´s not easy to prioritize and leave things behind but that´s part of any real expedition.

Starting the expedition all over again we covered 3 km up the glacier. This time we are aiming for a different route slighty further north.

We can really tell the difference with the new packing, a more stable pulk which means less flipping over. Spirits are high, and we are looking forward to the rest. We know we did the right thing! Obviously, we still have cellular perception, more pics:) The views are truly amazing!
